Certified-grade plywood
Thin layers of real hardwood veneer cross-bonded under heat and pressure. The crossed grain makes it strong, stable and far more resistant to Singapore's humidity.

MDF fibreboard
Medium-density fibreboard is wood residuals broken down into fine fibres, mixed with resin and pressed into a dense, uniform panel. Smooth, but with no grain structure for strength.
- Soaks up moisture and can swell or crumble at the edges
- Screws loosen over time, leading to sagging doors and shelves
- Heavier, with lower load-bearing strength per panel
- Once water-damaged, the fibre core cannot be restored
